Venus transits into Virgo late on Friday, July 31, and stays there until Wednesday, September 2. This is the low point of the year for Venus and a time for her to rest and meditate. Technically, she is debilitated here, but that just means she has to work three times as hard to get results.
It is a particularly difficult time for relationships. Venus tends to be too critical and picky in Virgo, and this can lead to picking poor partners, being a victim in relationships, broken romances, problems with the reproductive organs, bladder problems and sugar imbalances.
Mercury is in late Gemini and then Cancer as the dispositor, so it will not make things more emotionally unglued during Mercury in Cancer.
Not helpful is that Venus is being aspected by Saturn into August 21st.
Uttara Phalguni, July 31 to August 10
Venus enters through the Sun constellation, the part of the sky concerned with contracts, promises, and the formal side of partnership. This is the most workable stretch of the transit. If you have an agreement to make or a commitment to put in writing, do it in these first ten days rather than later.
Hasta, August 10 to August 25
Hasta is the hand, the constellation of skill and craft, ruled by the Moon. Venus does reasonably well with the desire to be useful here, and service becomes the higher road for a debilitated Venus. Serve your partner rather than correct your partner. Good time to do arts and crafts projects together with your hands or do a couple of massages.
The hard moment sits inside this window. Saturn casts his full aspect onto Venus on August 21, exactly at 7:43 in the morning. Expect coldness, distance, a sense of duty replacing affection, and old grievances surfacing with unusual weight. This is not the week to deliver the list of things your partner does wrong. Give it a few days.

Chitra (Virgo 23.20 to 30.00), August 25 to September 2
Chitra belongs to Mars and brings the lusty energy of Venus forward rather than the higher energies of artistic expression. If you give in to this energy, you may find your creative juices drained further, and this is a challenge for artists, designers, dancers, and singers who count on Venus. Moderation is always the key with Venus in Virgo. Avoid the extra sweets and the all-night escapades or you will simply be exhausted.
Venus reaches her deepest debilitation on August 29. The final week is the most demanding of the transit. Rest more than you think you need to.
Relationship skills really will need a deep tweaking through all of this. The key will be to accept your partner in his or her imperfections and to avoid being too critical about the things that bother you. A relationship is always about compromise and acceptance. Trying to change your partner usually does not work, but use your skills to communicate your needs in a non-aggressive manner and find a way to compromise, and you will get through. If the love is strong, then work it out, get counseling, and make it work, especially where children are involved.
The lion pose is connected to Venus and to the second chakra of creativity and pro-creativity, so use that pose when your creative juices seem low.
Taurus and Libra rising people, and anyone running a Venus period or sub-period, will feel this transit most. Virgos and Capricorns may do best with it. Libra rising in particular will need to rest more, conserve energy, take more time for meditation, and go on spiritual retreats in order to balance out the yearly imbalance. If you were born with Venus in Virgo, this transit will be a test rather than a surprise.
As always, remember that transits are only 20% of timing. All of this is contextual to the larger cycles you are running.
