Jupiter is the big dog in the sky that everyone loves, and it is very powerful as it prepares to go direct on March 10, 2026, after its long retrograde period since last November. It will remain in Gemini until June 1st, when it moves into Cancer — and that upcoming ingress into its sign of exaltation will be one of the most significant astrological shifts of 2026. But right now, in this stationary window, we have a concentrated and potent burst of Jupiterian energy that deserves our full attention.
Jupiter stations in Purnavasu nakshatra, which spans 20° Gemini to 3°20′ Cancer. This is a nakshatra I hold close to my own heart — I was born with a stationary Jupiter in Purnavasu in Gemini, sitting in the first house of my Karakamsha Rashi chart, the Jaimini life purpose chart. I attribute much of my love of teaching and writing to this placement, and I watch every Jupiter station in Gemini with genuine personal interest. Purnavasu means ‘the good dwelling again’ — it carries the quality of restoration, return, and renewal. Its presiding deity is Aditi, the boundless mother of the gods, whose essence is inexhaustible nourishment and grace.
Jupiter is very powerful in the sky 5 days before and 5 days after station — so from around March 5th through March 15th we are in a particularly strong window of expansion, wisdom, and good fortune. Thursday, the day ruled by Jupiter, will be especially potent during this period. Pay close attention to what opens up for you this week.
The deeper significance of Jupiter stationing in Purnavasu reveals itself through the nakshatra’s core themes. As I often teach, Purnavasu is the star of restoration — it asks us to consider what needs renewal in our lives, what resources or relationships might be returning after a period of absence, and what abundance is ready to flow again. Jupiter here is extraordinarily comfortable: Jupiter is the natural lord of Purnavasu, and when a planet transits through its own nakshatra, it functions at full power. This is Jupiter at its most benevolent and most wise.
Jupiter will enter Cancer on June 1st, crossing into its sign of exaltation where it will be near 5 degrees Cancer — its exact point of greatest strength. That upcoming transition is something we can all look forward to. But before that gift arrives, let’s receive what Jupiter in Gemini still has to offer: its gifts of communication, learning, curiosity, writing, commerce, and the ability to connect ideas and people across distances.
When Jupiter stations direct, benefic planets moving forward again increase in their power to do good. Retrograde benefics are inward; direct benefics extend their grace outward into the world. This station marks a significant shift — the flow of Jupiter’s blessings, which may have felt more internal or delayed during the retrograde period, now begins moving forward again with renewed momentum.
From a perspective of financial astrology, Jupiter stationary direct can signal a pickup in marketing momentum and business expansion after months of sluggishness. If you have been holding back on launching something, putting out a new offer, or making a bold business move, the weeks following March 10 — particularly before June 1st — are among the better windows of 2026 to act. Marketing tends to respond better to Jupiter direct. Expansion efforts that felt stalled may start to move. And given Jupiter’s imminent entry into Cancer at its exaltation point, the second half of 2026 looks considerably more optimistic from an economic standpoint than the first.
If you were born with Jupiter retrograde in your natal chart, this direct station will trigger your chart in particular. People born with natal Jupiter retrograde will feel a noticeable shift — perhaps a sense of forward motion returning, an ability to receive good judgment more easily, or a loosening of situations that have felt stuck. Jupiter governs husbands and male figures in relationships, so women in particular may notice shifts in their partnerships or their relationship to male advisors, teachers, or gurus as Jupiter shifts its direction.
The spiritual dimension of Jupiter in Purnavasu/Gemini reminds us that wisdom must have breadth — it must be able to communicate, connect, and share itself. As Brihaspati, the high priest of the Gods, Jupiter’s purpose is to reveal the Divine Plan and send us on our mission to rediscover our own Divinity. In Gemini and Purnavasu, this mission takes on the quality of the teacher who can hold many students and reach many minds — whose grace finds people through words, through learning, through the simple act of one human being sharing something true with another. If there is writing, teaching, speaking, or communicating that you have been called to do and have been putting off, this station is your signal to begin.
Jupiter is connected to the liver, which has over 750 major functions in the body. Even with a benefic station, a very active Jupiter can sometimes overwork the liver — particularly if you have Jupiter in a difficult placement in your natal chart or a tendency toward liver sluggishness. Drink warm water with fresh-squeezed lemon every morning to keep the liver toned. Be mindful of heavy, oily, or overly rich foods — Jupiter’s expansive energy can sometimes manifest as overindulgence. Jupiter is also connected to the pancreas, so be thoughtful about excess sweets during this powerful window. The spinal twist is an excellent pose to support liver function during strong Jupiter transits. As always, please learn these postures from a qualified yoga instructor and do not strain.
Of course, charts are very individual and general articles impact people differently. If you are Sagittarius or Pisces rising, have Jupiter retrograde in your natal chart, or have key planets at 20–29 degrees Gemini or 0–3 degrees Cancer, you will feel this station most acutely.
