Mars in Aries: The Warrior Comes Home
After eight weeks under heavy water, first the slog of late winter and then the spring submersion under Saturn, Mars finally arrives somewhere he can stand up straight. On May 11 he enters his own sign and stays through June 20. This is one of the cleanest gifts the wheel offers. The warrior comes home, and what was rowing through mud begins to find the current again.
Let me say it plainly: this is one of the more constructive Mars transits of 2026. Mars in his own sign is mature, focused, and well behaved. He is not the wild Mars of late winter nor the suffocated Mars of the gandanta. He is the Mars who knows the territory. The planets are not punishing you for the past two months. They were teaching you. Now Mars is giving you back your hands and asking what you intend to build.
There is no Saturn pressure here. Saturn stays behind in the previous sign. Mars has finally walked clear of him. The Sun has already moved on, so combustion is not a factor. The configuration is, by Vedic standards, light and workable. What it is not is sleepy. This is the cardinal fire that starts the wheel of the year. If you have been holding still through April, holding your tongue, holding back a decision, the second week of May will start to feel like pressure to move. That is normal. It is also the right pressure.
The first seventeen days, May 11 through May 28, are excellent for any healing initiative you have been postponing. The diet you said you would start. The practitioner you said you would call. The protocol you abandoned in late winter. It also includes the more difficult kind of healing, the conversation, the apology, the structural change in a relationship that has been breaking down quietly. Whatever you initiate in this window will gain its own momentum and run forward of you.
If you have spent the spring feeling like nothing was moving, the second week of May is when the boat finds the current again. This will not feel dramatic. It will feel like waking up rested for the first time in weeks and realizing you can think again.
When the conditions support action, act. Do not wait for a better moment. This is the better moment.
