A rare gathering
Every so often, the slow planets, the ones that shape years and not days, line up into a single conversation. This July is one of those times. From the 15th through the 25th, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn gather near the same degrees of the earth and water signs and begin speaking to one another all at once, forming what I am calling a Cosmic Cradle: a flowing, mostly supportive web of sextiles and trines, held together by a single tension across the Cancer-Capricorn axis.
Here is the sky in sidereal terms:
- Pluto at 10° Capricorn (retrograde): deep, structural transformation.
- Uranus at 10° Taurus: awakening around money, resources, and values.
- Neptune at 10° Pisces (retrograde from July 7): the dissolving, spiritual current beneath it all.
- Jupiter at 10° Cancer: expansion through home, heart, and nourishment.
- Saturn at 20° Pisces (turning retrograde July 27): the call to inner discipline and surrender.
The aspects, day by day
- July 15, Neptune sextile Uranus. Intuition and innovation work together. Insight arrives quietly, often through a dream or a sudden inner knowing.
- July 18, Uranus trine Pluto. Rare and constructive. Big change becomes practical; old structures can be rebuilt rather than shattered. In earth signs, this favors real, grounded transformation.
- July 19, Saturn sextile Mars. Disciplined action. Patient, steady effort accomplishes what force cannot. A good day to begin something that requires endurance.
- July 20, Jupiter opposition Pluto. The tension point of the Cradle. Watch for overreach and power struggles, especially around money and influence. Stay humble, and the pressure becomes fuel rather than friction.
- July 21, Jupiter sextile Uranus. Sudden openings, unexpected help, a fresh idea that expands your options.
- July 25, Neptune sextile Pluto. A generational, soul-level note: transformation guided by compassion and faith.
In our annual outlook, we noted that riots could be stronger this summer and that all of these factors will stir the pot. The most vulnerable are places like the UK, France, and Germany, where people are angry at the government and Globalism.
Taken together, the message is not upheaval but construction. This is a season to build something real and to let big change happen gently, patiently. The single opposition, Jupiter to Pluto, is a reminder to keep the ego out of it.
A Western lens
Western astrologers are watching this same window closely. They note that Uranus trine Pluto is the first such trine in roughly a hundred years, and that the last Neptune sextile Uranus occurred in 1966 to 1968, periods they associate with creative breakthroughs and grassroots awakening. We are seeing this with the socialist wake-up in the Democratic Party.
They read the Jupiter-Pluto opposition as the intense, stress-testing component in which ambition collides with the need for control. The systems differ in method, but both traditions agree: this is a rare, transformative cluster, and how we meet it matters. In the past, the French Revolution happened in July 1789, with Jupiter in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn, and the US was also still involved in the Revolutionary War with Great Britain.
The faster movers
- Mercury is retrograde in Gemini and turns direct on July 24. Until then, review rather than launch. Revisit conversations, double-check contracts, and finish the half-finished. After the 24th, clarity returns.
- The Sun enters sidereal Cancer on July 17, turning the heart toward home and family.
- Venus entered Leo on July 5, warming creativity, romance, and generosity.
- Neptune and Saturn both station retrograde in Pisces (July 7 and July 27), drawing the spiritual current inward. A beautiful month for meditation and quiet practice.
What to do with it
Build patiently. Begin the disciplined thing on or after the 19th. Keep communications gentle and double-check while Mercury is still retrograde. And around the 20th, when Jupiter opposes Pluto, resist the urge to force an outcome, in your finances most of all.
