I get emails every week from people who’ve had their charts read—sometimes multiple times—and they’re frustrated. “My astrologer said I’d have a great career, but I’m stuck in a dead-end job.” “My D-9 shows a wonderful marriage, but I’ve been divorced twice.” “The chart promised spiritual gifts, but I can’t meditate for five minutes without my mind going crazy.”
Here’s what I tell them: your natal chart is telling the truth. The promise is there. But it’s being denied at a level most astrologers never look at.
The Charts Beneath the Chart
Think of your natal chart as the blueprint. Beautiful design, everything in its place. But blueprints don’t tell you if the foundation is cracked, if there’s mold in the walls, if the electrical wiring is a mess waiting to short-circuit. That’s what the higher divisional charts reveal—the hidden architecture that determines whether the promise in your chart actually manifests or stays trapped as frustrated potential.
Most Vedic astrologers stop at the Navamsha. Check the D-9 for marriage, maybe glance at the D-10 for career, call it done. But there are entire dimensions of your karma operating beneath that surface level, and if you don’t understand them, you’re reading half a chart and wondering why your predictions don’t pan out.
Where Mental Patterns Become Physical Disease
Let me tell you what changed my approach to health astrology. I had a client—strong natal chart, decent D-9, nothing obviously wrong. But chronic illness, nothing the doctors could pin down. We looked at the D-30, the Trimsamsa, and there it was: a pattern of mental anguish crystallizing into physical symptoms. The body was trying to express what the mind couldn’t process.
The D-30 shows how mental patterns manifest as health problems. Not just “Mercury afflicted means nervous system issues”—that’s surface level. The Trimsamsa reveals the unconscious mental blocks, the negative thought patterns running on autopilot, the inherited beliefs about your body that your conscious mind doesn’t even know you’re carrying.
When you understand this chart, you can see illness forming at the causal level before it becomes a diagnosable disease. That’s when you can actually prevent suffering instead of just managing symptoms after they appear.
Pair that with the D-27, which shows your mental attitudes toward health—whether you have the discipline to do what’s good for you when Saturn’s testing you—and the D-3, which reveals the primal energies and courage needed to fight through health challenges, and suddenly you’re not just predicting health crises. You’re understanding why they happen and what needs to shift mentally and spiritually for healing to occur.
The Karma You Didn’t Ask For
Here’s something most Western astrologers don’t want to touch: ancestral karma. We like to think we’re self-made, that our problems are our own. But the D-12 tells a different story.
The 8th house in the Dwadasamsa reveals what you inherited from your father. Not just money—that’s the least of it. I’m talking about his unresolved karma around power, his relationship to authority, his unconscious patterns with wealth and status. If he never dealt with his issues around self-worth and money, guess who gets to work through that? You do.
The 3rd house shows what you inherited from your mother. Her emotional patterns, her mental stability or chaos, her way of nurturing or withholding. That comfort food addiction you can’t shake? That anxiety that seems to come from nowhere? Check what your mother’s Moon was doing in your D-12.
Then we go deeper. The D-40 and D-45 take you back into maternal and paternal lineage—grandparents, great-grandparents, ancestral patterns you’re carrying that go back generations. I’ve seen people struggle their whole lives with mysterious obstacles, sabotaging themselves in the same areas over and over, and when we finally look at these charts, there it is: unfinished business from ancestors they never met.
This isn’t mystical speculation. It’s in the chart, clear as day, if you know where to look.
Why Spiritual Practice Fails
Someone comes to me with a “spiritual chart”… Jupiter strong, 5th and 9th houses blessed, maybe Ketu well-placed in Pisces. They should be meditating like a saint. Instead, they can’t sit still for ten minutes, they doubt every teacher they meet, or their body rebels every time they try to establish a practice.
The D-20 shows me why. This chart reveals the specific obstacles to spiritual experience that Patanjali outlined centuries ago—bodily illness arising during practice, inability to comprehend spiritual instructions, doubt in yourself or the teacher, mental restlessness. Each obstacle has an astrological signature in the Vimsamsa.
When you understand these blocks, you can give people remedies that actually address the root problem instead of generic advice about meditation and mantra. You can see why someone with an “unlucky” chart makes rapid spiritual progress while someone with every advantage stays stuck at the surface level.
The 3D Chess Game
Life operates on multiple dimensions simultaneously. Your career isn’t just about the 10th house in your natal chart—it’s about whether the D-3 shows you have the courage to take risks, whether the D-30 reveals mental patterns that sabotage success, whether ancestral karma in the D-12 is blocking you from receiving the inheritance (material or otherwise) you’re due.
I call this the 3D chess game, and most astrologers are playing checkers. They’re looking at one chart, maybe two, making predictions based on incomplete information, then wondering why their timing is off or their remedies don’t work.
When you learn to synthesize these higher Vargas with the natal chart and the Navamsha, you can read the strands of DNA that make each life unique. You can see precisely why two people with similar natal charts have completely different outcomes. You can understand why someone’s Jupiter dasha brought wealth and expansion while another person’s Jupiter period brought legal problems and weight gain.
The chart is perfect—it’s our understanding that’s incomplete.
What This Course Actually Teaches
Varga 2 isn’t about memorizing meanings for divisional charts. Anyone can look up “D-30 is for evil and misfortune.” That tells you nothing useful.
We’re going to understand how mental patterns crystallize into physical disease. How your grandparents’ unresolved karma shows up as your psychological blind spots. How primal energies inherited through your family line either empower your spiritual growth or sabotage it at every turn.
You’ll learn to diagnose health issues before they become acute. To understand why talented people fail despite “great charts.” To uncover ancestral patterns creating mysterious blocks in money, relationships, career. To guide spiritual practice by identifying specific obstacles rather than offering generic advice. To time events with precision by watching transits through multiple Varga charts simultaneously.
And most importantly, you’ll learn to provide remedies that work at the right level—because you’ll finally understand where the problem actually originates.
Who This Is For
If you’re frustrated reading charts at the surface level, this is for you. If you want to understand why some yogas manifest and others don’t, this is for you. If you’re tired of giving the same generic remedies that don’t create real change, this is definitely for you.
I’ve designed the course to build progressively. If you understand basic Vedic astrology—houses, signs, planets, dashas—you’re ready for this material. Don’t let the technical complexity intimidate you. We start with fundamentals and build toward synthesis.
For advanced students, this will transform your practice. You’ll learn techniques the masters use but rarely explain clearly—chart rectification using the D-60, predicting health crises before they manifest, guiding clients through ancestral karma they don’t know they’re carrying.
The Real Point
These Vargas exist to help you witness the play of karma without being gripped by it. To understand the lessons being offered so you don’t have to suffer through them blindly. To see the patterns—inherited, mental, spiritual—and make new choices.
The planets are setting up karmic circumstances so we can get it right this time. Just like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, waking up to the same day until he finally learns kindness and compassion. The higher Vargas show you what you’re meant to learn, what patterns you inherited, what mental adjustments will free you from repeating the same mistakes.
When you understand these charts, you’re not just reading astrology anymore. You’re reading consciousness itself—the subtle levels where transformation actually becomes possible.
That’s what we’re exploring together in Varga 2. The microscopic details that make all the difference.
