Sun Conjunct Neptune (March 22) · Sun Conjunct Saturn / Cazimi Window (March 24–26) · Venus Exact Exaltation (March 24) · Venus Gandanta and into Aries (March 25–26)
A lot is happening in the sky over the next eight days — and the range is wide. We move from the mystical and dreamy to the structurally intense, and then into one of the most significant Venus transitions of the spring. Here is your guide to navigating all of it with awareness.
Sun Conjunct Neptune — March 22
On Saturday, March 22nd, the Sun makes an exact conjunction with Neptune. I use the outer planets in my practice — they carry real weight, especially when the Sun illuminates them like this.
Neptune in Vedic tradition connects to Varuna — the lord of the cosmic waters, the master of maya and illusion, and the bestower of spiritual wisdom. When the Sun conjuncts Neptune, the solar light amplifies Neptune’s most characteristic qualities: heightened sensitivity, intuition, empathy, and imagination. For those of you who are artistically or spiritually inclined, this can be a genuinely beautiful 24–48 hours. Insights arrive. Creative inspiration flows. The veil between the ordinary and the numinous feels thinner.
The challenge is equally real. Neptune can create what I call a psychological fog — a tendency toward daydreaming, escapism, or difficulty coping with the harder edges of daily reality. You may find yourself more sensitive to the emotional energy of others, more easily drained by negative environments or difficult conversations. I also consistently observe that Sun-Neptune energy can make financial decisions feel more inspired than they actually are. Be thoughtful with money this weekend.
Pisces and Virgo rising will feel this most directly, with Neptune activating your 1st and 7th house axes respectively. My recommendation for March 22nd: prioritize your spiritual practice in the morning, limit time with draining people or situations, and enjoy creative work or time in nature. The tree pose in yoga is a wonderful support during Sun-Neptune periods — it draws solar energy into the crown chakra and helps balance Neptune’s more dissolving tendencies.
Sun Conjunct Saturn — March 25, and the Cazimi Window (March 24–26)
A few days later, the Sun reaches its exact conjunction with Saturn in Pisces — the peak of the Saturn combust period that has been running since early March. I wrote about the full arc of this combust period in a recent article, and I encourage you to read it for the complete picture. The short version: Saturn combust can bring real pressure — tension with authority figures, dips in confidence, a quiet sense of isolation or heaviness.
But here is where it gets genuinely interesting — and why I want you to mark March 24th through the 26th in your calendar specifically.
When Saturn comes within approximately 40 minutes of arc from the Sun — what medieval astrology calls Cazimi — something shifts entirely. Rather than being overwhelmed by the solar fire, the planet enters the very heart of the Sun and is energized by it. The most positive qualities of Saturn emerge: deep discipline, reliability, meditative clarity, and the capacity for genuine spiritual commitment. A useful example: Oprah Winfrey has Venus Cazimi in her natal chart, and it has brought out Venus’s most powerful and luminous qualities throughout her life. The same energizing principle applies to Saturn in this transit window.
I have been watching Saturn combustion patterns for nearly four decades, and the Cazimi window is one of those phenomena I find consistently validated. Use March 24–26 intentionally. If there is a discipline you have been trying to establish, a long-deferred commitment you need to make, a difficult conversation about responsibility you have been avoiding — this is the window for it. Saturn in Cazimi does not make things effortless, but it makes the effort feel aligned with something larger and lasting.
Note something beautiful about this particular Cazimi window: it coincides exactly with Venus reaching her precise degree of exaltation on March 24th. Saturn’s spiritual discipline illuminated by the Sun, while Venus simultaneously reaches her peak of grace and devotion — all in Pisces. That is a rare and meaningful combination of energies to have available on the same day.
Outside the Cazimi window, extend yourself some grace. Cut sugar, rest more than usual, support your immune system. Be patient with bosses and authority figures. Remember: the antidote to Saturn’s heaviness is always Venus — music, beauty, warmth, and human connection. Lean into those deliberately this week. Capricorn and Aquarius rising will feel the Cazimi window most positively.
Venus at Exact Exaltation — March 24
On Monday, March 24th, Venus reaches 27 degrees Pisces — the precise degree of her exaltation, and the peak of her expression in this entire sign.
As I wrote in our Venus in Pisces article earlier this month, exalted Venus in Pisces is Venus at her most pure and her most powerful. Released from the critical analytical mind of Virgo, she can finally express her deepest nature: love as devotion, creativity as spiritual practice, beauty as a genuine path toward the Divine. In Pisces, Venus can become as great a Guru as Jupiter himself. She governs wealth, Lakshmi’s blessings, poetry, beautiful clothes, the fine arts, and music — but she is also, in her highest expression, a teacher who guides us from material existence toward something transcendent. I explore her full depth in my book Signs of Life from the Zodiac for those who want to go deeper.
The fact that this falls on the same day the Saturn Cazimi window opens makes March 24th a genuinely powerful day — Saturn’s clarity and Venus’s grace arriving together. Use it for creative work, for deepening intimacy, for opening the heart without condition. If you have felt emotionally worn down by the pressures of March, let this day offer real restoration.
Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius rising benefit from what is called a Malavya Yoga in transit — Venus exalted in an angular house, supporting home, happiness, and career simultaneously. If you are one of these four rising signs, Monday the 24th is a particularly auspicious day for any meaningful personal or creative endeavor.
Venus Gandanta and into Aries — March 25–26
And then, almost immediately, the energy shifts.
On Tuesday, March 25th, Venus moves out of exact exaltation and begins crossing the Gandanta — the emotional knot at the Pisces-Aries border (Pisces 29.20–Aries 0.40). She officially enters Aries on the 25th, with the Gandanta influence felt through the 26th, remaining in Aries through April 19th. This is one of the more jarring transitions in the astrological year for Venus. From her highest expression in Pisces to an enemy’s sign, ruled by Mars who is her adversary — the contrast is sharp and usually felt quickly.
The Gandanta is a zone of emotional unraveling and intensity. Relationships that felt harmonious can suddenly feel volatile. The flowing grace of Pisces gives way to the ego-driven “my way” energy of Aries, where we want to be right more than we want to be close. Watch March 25th–26th with some care in your most important relationships.
Mars is a bitter enemy of Venus, and the shadow side of this placement is real: moving too fast in relationships, arguments driven by wounded pride rather than genuine disagreement, getting intimate before the foundation is solid. The early degrees of Aries, in the constellation of Ashwini, can push Venus toward a push-pull between passion and sudden withdrawal. Slow down before reacting.
For Libra rising and Taurus rising especially, this transition will be felt most sharply — your ruling planet moves from her highest expression into difficult territory in the span of a single day. Be patient with your relationships over these first days. The good news is that once Venus moves past the early Ashwini degrees into Bharani Nakshatra after approximately April 7th, she becomes more playful, creative, and generous — the fire of Aries producing passionate expression rather than friction.
The Week in Summary
Begin with creative spiritual openness on the 22nd. Move into intentional commitment and grace on the 24th — a rare convergence of Saturn Cazimi and Venus at exact exaltation. Navigate the Saturn peak on the 25th with patience and self-care. Then brace yourself — with awareness, not fear — for the relational intensity that arrives as Venus crosses into Aries.
Navigate these days consciously and you will come out of March having genuinely worked with the sky rather than just been moved by it. The planets are your teachers. They are not punishing you — they are asking you to be awake.
