The week of March 11th through the 16th brings a very different energy than what we experienced the week before. Where last week offered grace, romance, and clarity, this week arrives with fire, voltage, and a strong invitation to slow down before acting. I want to prepare you for it — not to frighten you, but because understanding what’s happening in the sky is exactly how we stop the planets from pulling our strings.

The Core Energy: Mars Conjunct Rahu — The Angaraka Influence

The defining signature of this entire window is the conjunction of Mars and Rahu in Aquarius, active from March 11th through the 16th. In Vedic astrology, this combination is sometimes called Angaraka Yoga — and I want to be honest with you about what that means without making it catastrophic.

Mars is the general, the warrior, the force of raw action and courage. Rahu is the amplifier — the planet of obsession, illusion, and insatiable desire. When these two meet, the energy becomes volcanic. Whatever is already stirring inside you gets magnified: ambition, frustration, restlessness, the urge to break free from something that’s been holding you back. The surge of power can be remarkable. But like electricity running through a wire that’s slightly too thin, there is a very real risk of overload — rash decisions, accidents born from impatience, anger that bypasses judgment entirely.

The key understanding here is that this energy is not inherently destructive. Mars in the hands of a disciplined person is extraordinary courage and stamina. Rahu channeled wisely is innovation and the willingness to break through stale patterns. But undirected, this combination does what a fire hose does when nobody’s holding it: it thrashes around and soaks everything nearby.

The antidote is simple, if not always easy: channel it physically. Vigorous exercise, demanding work that requires your full concentration, hard physical projects that need doing — these are your friends this week. The energy needs somewhere to go. Give it a constructive outlet and it becomes a remarkable force. Leave it unattended and it tends to erupt sideways.

Mercury Joins the Conjunction: Watch Your Words

Adding complexity to this already charged atmosphere, Mercury moves into close contact with Mars and Rahu during this window. This is where the situation becomes particularly interesting — and where I’d ask you to be most mindful.

Mars is the most difficult planet for Mercury. While Mercury with benefics brings out its higher qualities — sharp intellect, clear communication, genuine wisdom — Mercury caught between the fire of Mars and the smoke of Rahu pulls in the opposite direction. The analytical mind becomes argumentative. Speech that could clarify instead cuts. The inclination arises to be a lawyer for your own position rather than a seeker of actual truth.

Rahu distorts. Mars pushes. Mercury, transmutable by nature, will take on both of those qualities if we’re not watching. The result is communication that moves fast, lands hard, and often regrets itself later.

My practical advice: before you send the difficult email, wait 24 hours. Before you make the decisive phone call in a moment of irritation, take a walk first. The mind this week is brilliant but not always reliable. Fact-check your own thinking before you build a case around it.

The Shatabhisha Factor: March 13th–14th Peak

At the peak of this conjunction, around March 13th and 14th, the triple alignment is occurring in the nakshatra of Shatabhisha — a constellation of Aquarius ruled by Rahu, associated with secrets, alternative healing, technology, and what the tradition sometimes calls “the hundred physicians.”

Shatabhisha connects Aquarius to medical research and inventive, unconventional thinking. This nakshatra carries a quality of the veil — things hidden, mysteries waiting to be uncovered. In the context of this volatile conjunction, the peak days of this window carry a particular electricity around hidden information coming to light, unconventional breakthroughs in health or technology, and the sense that something you’ve been searching for may suddenly become visible.

This is genuine — but approach it with discernment. The energy that lifts a veil can also generate illusions that look like revelations. With Rahu strongly involved, the truth may feel stranger than fiction. Verify what you discover before you act on it.

How to Work With This Week

The planets are your teachers, not your tyrants. This week is asking something specific of you: to be more conscious than usual about where your energy goes, what you say, and how quickly you act. That’s not a punishment — it’s an opportunity.

• Move your body. Channel the Mars-Rahu heat through physical activity every day this week. Don’t let it pool.
• Guard your tongue. Mercury in this configuration can create verbal fireworks that damage relationships you value. Pause before precision strikes.
• Innovate, don’t agitate. The creative and technical potential of this window is real. Use the weekend of the 14th–16th for breakthroughs, not battles.
• Triple-check your data. Rahu clouds. Mercury rushes. Verify important information before making decisions based on it.
• Meditate. I say this every week, but I mean it especially now. Even fifteen minutes of stillness creates enough distance from the reactive mind to make a genuine difference.

We are more powerful than the planets when we are consistent in our practice. This week, that’s not a platitude — it’s a strategy.
