William Bloom, PhD, is a prominent British author, educator, and activist known for his contributions to spirituality and holistic wellbeing. He founded the Spiritual Companions Trust, which offers the UK’s first government-approved vocational qualification in spirituality and health. With a doctorate in social psychology from the London School of Economics and extensive experience in meditation, Bloom has authored 26 books, including Psychic Protection: Creating Positive Energies for People and Places. His work makes complex metaphysical concepts accessible, and he was listed among the “100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People” by Watkins in 2020. Bloom also conducts workshops on meditation, energy healing, and personal development, integrating various spiritual traditions.

On 22nd September 2024 at 12:44 PM GMT (1:44 PM BST), the autumnal equinox marks the transition from summer to autumn, a significant moment in the feng shui calendar. This event, where day and night are nearly equal, symbolises a profound balance between yin and yang energies. In feng shui, the equinox is a time to harmonise our living spaces with the natural cycles, inviting a recalibration of energy to prepare for the introspective season ahead. It’s an ideal time to declutter and realign our homes, creating a serene environment that supports inner peace and balance as we move into autumn.
Edel Cleary is a Dublin-based interior designer, writer, and feng shui practitioner with over 25 years of experience. Originally an alternative health therapist, she developed a keen awareness of the impact of environments on health and wellbeing, leading her to study interior design and feng shui. Over the past 25 years, Edel has focused on creating balanced and healthy living spaces that support personal wellbeing. Her work involves helping clients connect with their surroundings to create uplifting and stress-free environments. She’s the author of Feng Shui Design Guidebook: A Place to Call Home.

11:10am The Sancai Methodology: Exploring the Way of Heaven, Human and Earth, for a comprehensive and holistic consultation, to achieve efficacy to your client’s satisfaction – Howard Choy
Feng Shui is not about right or wrong, it is to achieve efficacy, or what your client wants to achieve, with your help and your skills in applying the Chinese qi energetics, concepts like yin Yang, Sancai, Wuxing and Bagua. How to do it efficaciously requires us to explore fully, what is above, what is below and what is in us in a consultation, which happens to be the topic of this presentation. Sifu Choy will present the theories first, then follow by a couple of case studies, on how theories are put into practice.
Howard Choy, B.Arch, Feng Shui architect and principal of European College of Feng Shui (ECOFS) based in Berlin, is bi-lingual and China trained, he has nearly 50 years of experience working and teaching at the coal-face of Feng Shui. Sifu Choy is very proud of his cultural heritage and in his old age (77), he wishes to pass on some of the knowledge and know-how that he has gained in all these year from his classical training and working to pass them onto the next generation. This is your unique opportunity to hear from an old China hand.

11:50am Feng Shui in the 21st Century: Community Conversations and Reflections for Practitioners and Enthusiasts – lead by Gina Lazenby
Let’s have a conversation as a community about the role of feng shui in society today. How is feng shui perceived by people, and how can we reconcile these perceptions with how we represent it as professional practitioners and feng shui enthusiasts? What are the current needs of people living and using their homes in the 21st century? What has changed in the marketplace over the last 30+ years since the Feng Shui Society started, and are we serving people’s current needs? What kind of conversations do practitioners have with clients and feng shui enthusiasts? We will explore the open forum for sharing experiences and insights, adapting to new trends and client expectations, and the importance of community conversations in the evolving practice of feng shui.
Gina Lazenby, Chair of the Society, will lead us into group discussions and feedback. Gina was the co-founder of the Feng Shui Society in 1993 and was instrumental in popularising feng shui in the UK and globally. She received a marketing award for her efforts to promote feng shui. She’s the author of three books which sold over half a million copies and have been translated into many languages: The Feng Shui House Book, Simple Feng Shui and The Healthy Home. She has been featured on Channel 4 News, ITV’s Yorkshire Calendar News and BBC 2’s Newsnight and The Money Programme. She runs retreats in her Healthy Home in the Yorkshire Dales.

Entrances to our homes, villages, and towns, including our doors, have invisible gateways filled with various energies and codes, intentionally or subconsciously placed. These energetic gateways affect our perceptions and ability to enter these spaces. Even when a physical entrance is modified or removed, its energetic counterpart can still influence the area because of the original patterns.
